Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich questions the neutrality of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Although Mueller is a registered Republican, he is also good friends with former FBI Director James Comey. It’s also been reported that Mueller has hired liberal lawyers with ties to the Democratic Party to assist him in overseeing the investigation into Russian collusion and allegations of obstruction of justice.
Gingrich is particularly concerned about the fact that Mueller’s ex-law firm, WilmerHale, donated $326,798 to Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign, in comparison to the $628 that they donated to Donald Trump.
Gingrich accused Republicans of turning a blind eye to Mueller and the investigation, “They don’t look at, what’s the background to what’s going on here? This is not a fair game. These are people who are out to destroy Trump.”
As the former Speaker put it, “You couldn’t make this up.”
Yes I’m Right Reports:
Up until recently, politics was supposed to have absolutely no bearing on the execution of law enforcement. And that makes sense, because law enforcement deals with concrete laws, while politics deals with all that goes into making those laws. Sadly, there’s been some circumventing of the standard process, and politics are starting to bleed into what is done at places like the FBI.
