Remember when Loretta Lynch met with former President Bill Clinton on the tramac at the Phoenix airport back in June of last year? Yeah, that wasn’t planned at all! They talked about golf and grandkids. The subject of the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified material on her personal server never came up.
Not long after her meeting with the former President, Lynch met with James Comey, who was the Director of the FBI at the time, and instructed him not to refer to the Clinton email case as an ‘investigation’. Instead, she told him to call it a ‘matter‘.
A bipartisan group of Senate Judiciary Committee members wrote a letter to former Attorney General Loretta Lynch Friday in an attempt to confirm if she tried to stifle the FBI investigation into the Hillary Clinton email probe. Members gave Lynch a deadline to answer their questions by July 6.
Citing testimony from Comey and the June 2016 meeting between Lynch and Bill Clinton, lawmakers asked the former attorney general to answer further questions about her relationship with not only the Clintons, but also the Democratic National Committee.
The Political Insider reports:
As you all remember, Loretta Lynch likely played a major role in helping get Hillary Clinton off the hook near the conclusion of the FBI’s investigation into her private email server use.
Right before Hillary emerged from the investigation unscathed, Lynch and Bill Clinton had a secret meeting at an airport in Phoenix. If it wasn’t for a journalist getting a lucky tip, we would’ve never known about the meeting, which they tried to play off as coincidental. It was quickly learned that the meeting was planned – and went on for about a half-hour.
