Britt McHenry, former ESPN host, says that claims by the sports network that they cut back on writers and reporters in order to save money are mostly false. Look at Curt Schilling, for example, he was fired for making comments about radical Islam. It had nothing to do with saving money!
It’s not a secret that the folks at ESPN have been leaning a bit left, in fact, McHenry suggested that she was let go for being conservative.
McHenry tweeted, “I mean, I’ve been openly Conservative … look how that ended up.”

Naturally, some folks on the left side of the aisle claim that her political beliefs had nothing to do with her firing. Instead, they point to an incident captured on video back in 2015, when McHenry berated a tow truck employee in a rather upsetting, vulgar fashion.
After that incident, ESPN promptly suspended her for a week.
Allen B. West reports:
ESPN is catching some serious flak after former host Britt McHenry claimed she was fired for being a conservative.
The sports network has been growing more and more openly political and left-leaning over the last few years, as evidenced by the treatment of Curt Schilling who was fired after making comments about radical Islam.
According to IJR, Back in April, sports network ESPN let go around 100 of its writers and reporters as the company moved to save some money in response to plummeting ratings.
