North Korea has continued down a path of dangerous, aggressive behavior. The Hermit Kingdom appears to now be able to launch an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching Alaska. Experts agree that it’s only a matter of time before they can reach targets anywhere in the United States.
President Trump has warned the chubby cheeked North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-Un, to fall in line with UN resolutions that prohibit him from developing and testing nuclear weapons. Kim refuses to listen.
The President urged China to intervene, thinking that Beijing might have been able to get Kim to listen to reason. But it was all for nothing.
China’s UN Ambassador recently warned that if world powers fail to find a way to ease tensions with North Korea, things could “get out of control”.
“If tension only goes up … then sooner or later it will get out of control and the consequences would be disastrous,” he said.
That’s all well and good, but, as President Trump noted, trade between China and North Korea grew almost 40 per cent in the first quarter of this year. China, like all the other UN countries was supposed to be enforcing trade sanctions against the rogue state.
The President tweeted: “So much for China working with us.”
The Federalist Papers Project reports:
North Korea is continuing with their aggressive behavior only this time they have new weapons that may indeed be able to cause real damage and much further away, including the United States.
North Korea fired off an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Tuesday, which is something that hasn’t been seen from the dictatorship before now.
