The Women’s March tweeted a happy birthday message to Assata Shakur on Monday. The tweet had a picture of Shakur with the caption “A WOMAN’S PLACE IS IN THE STRUGGLE”.

They referred to Shakur, a member of the Black Liberation Army, as a ‘revolutionary‘ and dedicated the day’s march to her.
You can bet that most of them don’t even know that Shakur is a convicted murderer!
In May 1973, Shakur was wounded in a shootout with state troopers on the New Jersey Turnpike. The gunfight resulted in one trooper being killed, execution-style. Shakur was convicted of the murder, and sentenced to life in prison.
In 1979, she escaped from prison and made her way to Cuba. Shakur has been living on the island nation ever since. She is, however, still on the FBI’s most wanted list and there is a $2 million bounty on her head.
In defense of their stupidity, the Women’s March posted a long chain of tweets explaining why they honored Shakur. They basically said that the political climate was very different back in the 60s and 70s. They claim that Shakur used whatever tools she had available to fight against sexism and racism.
Naturally, they paint Shakur as the victim fighting against the white, racist, misogynistic establishment.
Either way, she’s a convicted murderer with a bounty on her head.
The Daily Wire reports:
On Monday, the supposedly bipartisan Women’s March tweeted out a happy birthday message to an actual, honest-to-goodness terrorist: Assata Shakur.
The tweet came complete with a picture of Shakur, with the slogan “IS IN THE STRUGGLE” pasted at the top. In May 1973, Shakur was wounded in a shootout with state troopers on the New Jersey Turnpike; one trooper was killed, execution-style. She was convicted of the murder, and sentenced to life in prison.
