Michael Cohen, the personal attorney of President Donald Trump spoke out about Snoop Dogg’s video to his new song “Lavender.” In it, the rapper pulls a fake gun on a clown representing Trump, and puts it to his head.
Cohen insists that Snoop Dogg owes Trump an apology, for releasing such an anti-Trump video.
Tuesday, Cohen to TMZ Live that what the rapper did was “totally disgraceful.” He blasted Snoop for the scene in his video, a remake of “BADBADNOTGOOD” that shows him firing the toy gun at the Trump clown, better known as Ronald Klump.
Trump’s attorney wants the rapper to apologize to the President. He claims there’s nothing funny about it, as it depicts a presidential assassination. Cohen makes it seem as if he knows the rapper well, referring to him as simply “Snoop” and noting:
“And I am shocked that…I’m really shocked at him because I thought that he was better than that.”
The SmokeRoom reports:
“I’m not sure I really understand the artistic value to having somebody dressed up as Trump and firing a weapon at him,” he added. “I would not have accepted it if it was President Obama, I certainly don’t accept it as President Trump. In all fairness, it’s not funny, it’s not artistic.”
“If you have a protest that’s fine, make your point,” he continued. “But it should never be..he has to learn that they need to respect the office of the presidency. And just because you want to hide behind the guise of artistic capabilities, or artistic freedom of speech doesn’t make it right. And Snoop knows that.”
“I’m sure the rest of the country is disappointed as well, so shame on you Snoop, ” he said. “You should be better than that, that’s for sure.”
