The Baltimore Police Department is under fire again after reports that two more of its officers have been suspended. Sources say they may have connections with the seven Baltimore police officers who were indicted for racketeering March 1.
T.J. Smith, a Baltimore Police spokesman, wouldn’t name the two officers. He did say that both have been suspended with pay. The two Baltimore cops have been placed on administrative duty until detectives have completed their internal investigation.
Smith wouldn’t explain the connection between these two Baltimore cops and the seven indicted on federal charges early in March. He did note, however, that they are not currently facing criminal charges.
According to Reagan Coalition, the seven Baltimore police officers were charged with the following:
- Falsely detaining people
- Stealing property and money from them
- Submitting false reports to cover their crimes against the people
The Daily Caller reports:
Seven Baltimore police officers face federal racketeering charges after it was revealed they allegedly routinely robbed citizens, lied on overtime documents and falsified official documents. All of them pleaded not guilty to the charges.
