On Monday, during a House Intelligence Committee hearing, Representative Trey Gowdy pointed the finger at former President Obama and six other administrative officials as possibly being the sources behind the Flynn Leaks.
During the meeting, Gowdy was questioning James Comey. At some point, he appears to name Barack Obama, and six top staffers from his administration of leaking information. He insinuates that they were possibly the sources behind the leaks about the Russian government’s alleged collusion with former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn during the 2016 presidential election.
Many are comparing his claims to those of President Trump, where he insists that former President Barack Obama placed wiretaps on his phones at Trump Tower. In both instances, no evidence was given to support the claims.
The South Carolina Republican first asked the FBI director if former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper “knew the name of the U.S. citizen that appeared in The New York Times and Washington Post?… Would he have access to an unmasked name?”
