Russell Brand now blames their busy, famous lives for his breakup with ex-wife Katy Perry. Or, maybe not…
Earlier this week, the English actor and comedian talked about his divorce from Perry during a W Channel interview with John Bishop.
He told Bishop that although they were both “very, very” busy and occupied, it was not to the same degree.
Brand admits that their marriage didn’t last long at all. And, he believes it’s because of the “undulating nature of fame” and living under the conditions that come with that fame.
The “Army of One” actor has made some fierce attacks against ex-wife Katy Perry in the past. He claimed she was “vapid, vacuous and plastic.”
Russell Brand also admitted in public that when he had sex with her during their marriage, he had to visualize other women, any other woman but his wife. Now, he claims his fond feelings for her never completely faded away.
“I have come away from that experience and I still feel very warm towards her … When I hear about her or see her, I think ‘Ah, there’s that person, that person in the world,'” he added.
In the July 2013 issue of Vogue, pop star Perry described details on the doomed marriage a bit differently.
“Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011,” Perry revealed.
“He started making jokes about me and he didn’t know I was in the audience because I had come to surprise him at one of his shows.”
The “Rise” singer recalled Brand as a once “magical man” she fell madly in love with when the couple wed in 2010.
