Church is one of the last places anyone would suspect as being unsafe for a child. But while with family and other church congregants, a 10-year-old girl went missing following a prayer service.
Although stranger abduction is rare, it was initially suspected as the reason behind Kayla Gomez-Orozco’s disappearance from the Bullard First Assembly of God church in Bullard, Texas, on Tuesday.
KHOU writes that more than 600 people showed up to search the area for the missing girl.
However, there was very little information to go on and no leads until Saturday morning.
CBS 19 reports that by Saturday afternoon, it was confirmed that the little girl’s remains had been found.
According to KETK, her body was found just outside Bullard, inside a well. A source told KETK that an uncle was responsible.
Police will be giving the public more information during a press conference slated for Sunday afternoon.
