Alexandria Vera, 24, landed in hot water when horrifying detailsabout her perverted relationship with a 13-year-old student emerged last year.
The English teacher, who taught at Thomas J. Stovall Middle School, was in a sexual relationship with the young student for months before anybody caught on.
Their relationship started after he sent her a message on Instagram during the summer of 2015.
The Daily Mail reports that the couple told police that they “had sex on almost a daily basis” and “love each other.”
They also stated that the boy’s parents were in favor of the twisted relationship.
And she claimed the boy’s parents were pleased.
She told investigators that the family was “excited” and “very supportive” of the fiasco.
She ultimately aborted the pregnancy when Child Protective Services started asking questions.
Vera is also mother to a 4-year-old girl.
In June 2016, the teacher was charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child after turning herself in.
Vera has now accepted a plea deal after appearing in court in Houston on Wednesday—and the news is grim.
KHOU reports that the 24-year-old has accepted the charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child.
The charge has a max sentence sentence of life in prison, but it was capped as part of her plea deal.
Still, the news is grim.
She’s facing a 30-year sentence.
Her defense attorney, Ricardo Rodriguez, told Chron:
“We’re very much hoping for deferred adjudication.”
A deferred adjudication means that if Vera completes her sentence without problem, she will have no conviction record.
Vera will find out her fate when she is sentenced in January.
