A woman who went missing along with her boyfriend was found “chained like a dog” at a South Carolina home. A registered sex offender has been arrested in connection with the investigation.
Kala Brown, 30, shown below, was found in a storage container after people heard banging that led police to her rescue at a property in rural Spartanburg County Thursday. Brown was reported missing along with her boyfriend two months ago, and has been held captive and “chained like a dog” since her disappearance.
Brown’s boyfriend, Charlie Carver, 32, was last seen on surveillance video leaving work. There has been no word of what happened to Carver, though authorities fear the very worst.
Once freed, Brown told investigators that four bodies are buried on the property. Investigators quickly found weapons and ammunition when they searched the area, leading them to believe a serial killer was on the run.
It wasn’t long before the cops busted Todd Kohlhepp, 45, above, a registered sex offender, and charged him with kidnapping. Kohlhepp was convicted in 1987 of kidnapping the 16-year-old in Arizona, according to the South Carolina Public Sex Offender Registry.
Police have not yet released any details on how they zeroed in on Kohlhepp.
